30.06.2010 | Senior partner of the company Liliya Vlasova delivered to the third-fifth year students of the Law faculty of the Belarusian State University 16 hour course “Extrajudicial Ways of Conflict Resolution (Mediation)”.

This course has been read at the Law Faculty for the first time. Students got acquainted with the nature of conflict, gained an understanding of what is implied under the term of “mediation”, its procedure and principles as well as discussed perspectives of legal confirmation of this institution in Belarus.

At the Law faculty website students left positive references on the attended course: “We are certain that gained knowledge will be very useful not only in our future legal activity but will help us to avoid conflicts in our day-to-day life. We hope that mediation as an institution of civil society will find its development in our country and extrajudicial regulation of conflicts will be studying at the Law faculty not only as an optional course but as an independent discipline!”

28.05.2010 | We are pleased to announce that the fifth anniversary CIS Local Counsel Forum will take place in Minsk on 23-25 June 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Minsk Hotel, hosted by a leading local firm Vlasova Mikhel & Partners.

The inaugural CIS Local Counsel Forum was held in Kiev in June 2006, hosted by RULG-Ukrainian Legal Group, and was the first ever wide-scale meeting of the international legal community with the best Local Counsel law firms from the CIS economic region (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan). Since then, the CIS Forum has evolved into an informal network of managing and senior partners of CIS and international law firms, meeting annually in different venues chosen by the Delegates.

The Forum meetings bring together leading business lawyers from the CIS economic region and from around the world, with an approximately equal split between representatives of the international legal community and of the CIS legal community. The Delegates share the Mission of the Forum - "Bringing together the CIS and international legal communities with the aim of creating joint business opportunities and long-term cooperation". 20.05.2010 | Belarusian-Kazakhstan business forum took place in the National Library of the Republic of Belarus on 20 May 2010. Within the framework of this event senior associate Vasiliy Volozhinets took part in the business negotiations with the representatives of Kazakhstan enterprises.

20.04.2010 | Seminar “Public Private Partnerships and Privatization in Belarus” organized by the international law firm Denton Wilde Sapte and law firm “Vlasova, Mikhel & Partners” under the help of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held in Minsk on 20 April 2010.

Partners from Denton Wilde Sapte and managing partner of the law firm Sutkiene Pilkauskas & Partners (Lithuania) shared experience on realization of projects of public private partnership in Great Britain, Russia and Lithuania.  Within the framework of the seminar partner of “Vlasova, Mikhel & Partners” Tatiana Emelianova delivered a report  devoted to the analysis of possibilities on conduction of projects of private public partnership in the conditions of present legislative environment in the Republic of Belarus.

09.04.2010 | On 8 - 9 April in Moscow managing partner Konstantin Mikhel took part in the VI Annual Conference “Law business in Russia”.

Within the framework of one of the sessions “Russian business entry to the CIS market — a friend among foes, a foe among friends? A practicing lawyer's outlook” Konstantin Mikhel presented a report on the legal regime in the Republic of Belarus.
